Atomium

The Atomium is located in the Park des Expositions in Brussels. This huge 165 billion times enlarged model of molecule of iron was made for the world exhibitions EXPO 1958, which was held here. Something similar can be found only in Paris.

The Eiffel Tower was built for the same reason for exhibition in 1889. Dimensions of The Atomium are as follows – height of 102 m, with the mast of 110 m and an average of 9 balls is 18 m. The balls are interconnected escalators. The Atomium is made from steel and aluminium. Inside the ball are located exhibitions of various scientific disciplines. On the top is a restaurant overlooking the city.
