The Baroque orchestra Concerto Kln is joined by soloists Simone Kermes and Alexei Lubimov.
KlaraFestival 2010 is off to a riveting start with an integral Mozart programme featuring Concerto Kln, this year's excellent Artist in Residence. Mozart's masterful last symphonic work, the Jupiter Symphony, is the cement holding this programme together. The choice of programming is no coincidence, since Mahler owed a large part of his success as a conductor to his rendition of this work. On top of that, opening this year's festival with such extremely talented people as Simone Kermes and Belgian conductor Frank Agsteribbe is more than just a daring experiment, it is an ode to music and absolute proof that classical music is still alive and kicking.
